SMS Terms & Conditions

Text messaging is optional, consent-scoped, and easy to leave.

These terms govern text messaging operated by Advanced Neural Security Research, a Washington State nonprofit corporation doing business as ANSR Labs. Last updated October 7, 2026.

What we send today

  • Disclosure case updates — status and follow-up on a vulnerability report you submitted under our disclosure policy.
  • Security advisory alerts — notice when a new advisory or research finding is published, to those who requested them.
  • Research coordination — scheduling for staff, collaborators, and research partners.

How we limit what you get

  • We send only what the program you opted in to covers.
  • We do not message numbers that did not affirmatively opt in.
  • If ANSR Labs introduces a new messaging program, it is offered through its own separate opt-in. Consenting to one program never enrolls you in another.

Consent

By entering your mobile number at /sms-signup/ and checking the relevant consent box, you agree to receive text messages from ANSR Labs at that number for the purpose you selected. Consent for each program is collected separately — opting in to disclosure updates does not enroll you in advisory alerts, and the reverse.

Consent is not a condition of anything. You do not need to opt in to submit a security report, to receive a response to one, to contact ANSR Labs, or to access any part of this site. All correspondence remains available by email.

You confirm that you are the subscriber to, or customary user of, the number you provide, and that you are authorized to consent to receive messages at it.

Frequency and cost

  • Message frequency varies by program. Disclosure updates track the lifecycle of your report. Advisory alerts are sent only on publication and are infrequent.
  • Message and data rates may apply. ANSR Labs does not charge you; your carrier's standard rates apply under your plan.
  • Carrier support may vary and is subject to change. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opting out and getting help

  • Reply STOP to cancel. You will receive one confirmation and then no further messages from that program.
  • Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for support details.
  • You may also opt out via [email protected] or by calling (877) 331-9742.
  • Opting out does not withdraw or affect a security report you submitted. We continue handling it by email.

Do not send sensitive technical detail by text

SMS is not an encrypted channel. Do not transmit vulnerability details, proof-of-concept material, or other sensitive technical information by text message — use [email protected] for anything of substance. Mobile numbers and message content relating to a disclosure report are handled under the same confidentiality terms as the report itself.

Message delivery depends on carrier networks, device settings, and signal availability, all outside our control. Do not rely on text messaging for time-critical security matters — use [email protected].

Privacy of your number and consent

Your mobile number and consent record are handled as described in our Privacy Statement.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

ANSR Labs may update these terms. Material changes affecting the messaging program will be posted here with a revised date. Contact: Advanced Neural Security Research, Kennewick, WA 99336 · [email protected] · (877) 331-9742.
